Our General Manager, Cindy 

I am not exaggerating when I tell you that Cindy has been with Berlin Natural Bakery since the very beginning (or at least since 1992 when it was about 6 years old). That means she has been a part of this mission for longer than my family has had ownership. She has experienced it in a way that none of truly has. In that day in, day out kind of way.

Cindy is one of the most generous, honorable, upright people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She will go above and beyond the call of duty every time and even try to make you think it’s no big deal when the reality is – she saved you in a big way.

Cindy is one of my Mom’s closest and dearest friends which automatically makes her one of my heroes. My Mom is a strong and high energy person and Cindy can more than hold her own and then some! She is smart, she is fierce, she is strong and she has run and managed Berlin Natural Bakery with grace and authority and heart that I absolutely admire.

Our phrase “we do what’s right even when it isn’t easy” may have been articulated by my Mom but it is carried out in Cindy’s actions every single day.

Our Operations Manager, Karl 

Our General Manager and our Operations Manager are actually a married couple! This makes for quite a bit of daily entertainment – let me tell you!

More than that, though, Karl has one of the quickest wits I have ever experienced. My Mom and I like to think that we’re pretty sharp but we are NOTHING compared to Karl’s one liners.

Karl has been with Berlin Natural Bakery since 2001. His title is accurate but I like to think of him as our own personal, on the scene MacGyver. He can absolutely fix anything. He has a mind that can just take a look at a mechanical problem and zero in on exactly its weakness. He has been instrumental in planning, executing and maintaining our processes every single day.

We really like to joke around and have fun with Karl but the truth is, he is a perfect match for Cindy as they both have huge, generous hearts. They not only take care of day to day operations but they take care of our employees. They pour themselves into the people under their charge and have always tried to create a safe, supported community under our roof.
